Kashmir Sugar Mills Ltd. Was incorporated in 1996-97, and started its first crushing season in December 1997. KSML has adopted defection remelt carbonation / Sulphitation process for the production of white sugar.
The mill is situated in Shorkot City. The area of the mill is about 107 acres which is enclosed by the boundary wall having the main factory building, Cane yards, workshop, main stores, auto repair shop, sugar godown, school and officers’ residence colony.
The project also acquires 2,250 acres that named as Kashmir Sugar Mills Research Farm. The land is meant for developing Cane Seed of better cane varieties for our growers and serves to secure cane supply from integral sources for at least a month’s time.
PLANT CAPACITY
The plant was originally designed for 6000 TCD but with slight modification in plant and by adding some equipment in milling and process houses, now we can crush up to 10000 TCD daily. It is the best industrial unit in the Shorkot City of providing employment at large scale.
PRODUCTION
The mill right from its inception has been playing a great role in the economic development of the area in particular and of the country in general, showing excellent performance with marvelous production results. Presently it is producing sugar valuing over Rs. 60.000 million daily.
